Rowing was introduced as a sport at Baradene College in 1995 by the then Principal, Gillian Trotman. Gillian enlisted the help of a friend of hers, Olympic gold and silver medallist Dudley Storey, to set up the rowing programme. Dudley ended up as Head Coach for the next 18 years!
Baradene Rowing is today headed by Head Coach, Aimee Pink, supported by a strong Coaching team and Rowing Committee. We aspire to consistently compete at the highest level nationally. But we also strive to provide an environment where young athletes can learn the skills of persistence, discipline and resilience. And where we hope they will make lifelong friends, built from the intense individual and teamwork challenges that rowing provides. Go Bara!
